Girls caught after YouTube bashing video:
Three teen girls, 13,15, and 16, and a 36-year-old mother, all from Australia, have been tracked down by police after a video of them fighting appeared on YouTube.
The 36-year-old was more of a victim in the fight but according to the article she could be facing charges along with the teens.
The girls have admitted to their part in the fight.
No word on why the 36-year-old woman is also facing charges.
The fight was brought to the attention of police by NEWS.com.au. I can almost guarantee you that this video was never flagged and therefore escaped YouTube’s attention.
YouTube fight videos conflict with Mixed Martial Arts values:
I’ve posted about backyard MMA fights before and how they’re being posted to YouTube.
The blog post I linked to from an MMA news site is stating that the phenomena is becoming all to prevalent in Hawaii with parents even encouraging the fights.
The school systems in Hawaii have turned to the legitimate MMA community to help curb these incidents.
Personally I think the best thing would be for the legit MMA fighters to go these so called parents’ houses and put them in ankle locks until they promise not to encourage this idiotic behavior in their kids.
I have nothing against MMA. I’m sort of a fan of it. But fights by untrained combatants can only lead to injury.
Video Of Fight Between Local Girls Posted Online:
This is an article about a woman from the Pittsburgh area who basically lost track of her 16-year-old daughter. Then when her daughter returned she discovered that the daughter was involved in a fight where the video was posted on the internet.
I guess the reasons that kids keep posting these videos online is to gain approval from other kids online who think this kind of activity is cool.
I’ve said this before on several of my other sights that parents need to keep a closer eye on their kids’ internet activity.
Deputies investigate girl fight on YouTube:
A fight broke out between two teenage girls at the Land O’ Lakes, Florida Public Library, which I understand is made entirely out of butter.
So what does a nearby person do? No he doesn’t call the cops. He of course records it on his cell phone and posts it to YouTube. Of course YouTube has already pulled it.
The doofus even stuck the camera in his own face. When police catch everyone involved I’m sure we’ll have a certain award waiting for them.
Police probe Youtube film of street beating:
Sorry about my absence here.
Anyway yet another beating video from the UK has been posted to YouTube. This time it’s from Northamptonshire in England where a kid was beat up over 80p.
The video itself, entitled Murky Kid Swingin It Out, haas been pulled from YouTube. In it you see a man in his late teens/early 20s being beaten and kicked and the head while people stand around saying ‘film it’. The victim repeatedly claims that he doesn’t have any money to no avail.
In a message posted on YouTube, another person who claims to have been at the ‘mash up’ said ‘it was only over 80p for some chips’.
Police are investigating but no arrests have been made at the time the article was published.
Police hope video will help find assailants:
Montreal police are hoping that a video posted on LiveLeak will help them track down suspects in a racially motivated beating that happened this past Friday.
It’s alleged that two white men from Ontario hurled racial epithets at a crowd of black people that brought on the beating. The video diesn’t capture the slurs but does capture the beating.
Police are hoping to identify the suspects through the video. The victims refused treatment and are unwilling to cooperate with police.
If these guys were hurling racial insults then they did deserve a beating but not from a mob. I guess a man on man fight is a thing of the past these days.
Christine of b5media’s Weary Parent has a great post on how to make sure your kids aren’t taping fights for YouTube.
(Disclosure: I also post for b5 at MyCrimeSpace and Psycho for Love)
Middle school girls tape schoolmate beating:
Several; female students of Clarksville Middle School in Indiana ages 12-14 are in trouble for the beating of a 12-year-old girl that was recorded and posted to Photobucket.
The school isn’t doing anything because the incident happened off school grounds. Police seem to think this was inspired by the beating of Victoria Lindsay.
Thanks to my wife Jade for the tip.
YouTube video shows teen beating:
A video was posted to YouTube that showed a 16-year-old girl being beaten by a group of other girls.
No, this wasn’t the infamous beating of Victoria Lindsay. This was the beating of a girl from the Mott Haven section of The Bronx.
The girl can be seen running down the street and into a deli for safety, where she was told to leave by the man behind the counter.
Several young men were with the girls, encouraging the attack.
The victim’s mother says her daughter has a black eye and several cuts.
I wonder if this attack will receive the same amount of media attention as the one in Florida. Considering the demographics of Mott Haven I doubt it will.
